Visiting My Future Home | Edinburgh, Scotland

A few months before moving to Edinburgh for graduate school, I spent a week in Scotland with friends.

The funny thing is that this trip wasn't originally planned as a "moving to Scotland" trip. When it was booked, graduate school wasn't even part of the plan. But by the time I arrived, I had been accepted into the MA Graphic Design program at the University of Edinburgh, and suddenly everything felt different.

Instead of seeing Edinburgh as a visitor, I found myself imagining what everyday life might look like here. The walk to class, my favorite coffee shop, afternoons spent sketching in the Meadows, and weekend train rides to visit my friend in Falkirk. The ordinary moments that slowly turn a place into home.

This week was a mix of both the ordinary and the memorable. I explored Edinburgh, visited my future accommodation, saw the University of Edinburgh campus in person, enjoyed a spontaneous picnic in the Meadows, completed the Edinburgh Half Marathon, and spent time with friends in Falkirk and Glasgow along the way.

What I love most about this video is that it captures a moment in between. Not quite a tourist, not quite a local, and not quite moved in yet. Just standing at the beginning of a new chapter and trying to imagine what comes next.

I hope you enjoy coming along for the journey. 🤍
