Why I'm Leaving Everything to Study in Edinburgh

For the past five years, I've been building a career in marketing, working across branding, digital and communications in a role that gave me a wide range of experience. Over time, though, I started to feel a growing disconnect between what I was doing and where I wanted to go.

Nothing was necessarily wrong. From the outside, things looked stable. But internally, I couldn't see what the next version of my career, or life, was building toward. That realization is what led me to start asking a different question: not "what's my next step?" but "what direction do I actually want to move in?"

Graphic design is something I've been drawn to since I was a teenager, but wasn't a path I fully pursued at the time. Coming back to it now feels less like a new interest and more like returning to something I've been circling for years. Choosing to go back to school, especially at this stage of my life, isn't about starting over from scratch. It's about intentionally shifting direction.

Edinburgh has been a part of my life for several years, and the idea of studying there felt both exciting and grounding at the same time. When I was accepted into the graphic design program at the University of Edinburgh, it confirmed that this wasn't just a passing idea, it was a direction I could actually pursue.

This post (and video) is the beginnning of documenting my direction change. I don't have everything figured out. But this is the point where things start to change!

I'm happy you're here :)
